![]() That being said, it's not really a no name brand or anything. If it was like 25 or so maybe it would be like "well yeah" but from my perspective, quality Bluetooth speakers is a weird niche and I can't come up with any scenario I desperately need it. Of if you need something Bluetooth out it towards the nice sony in ear Bluetooth "air pods" or a nice Bluetooth headphone pair. If you have that base covered? Fine, but 70+ bucks is part way to a nice DAC or a better set of Sennheisers. I'd rather put that money towards a nicer sound system for my desktop or a nice pair of headphones. I edited my comment to offer my perspective in that I don't really think spending so much on a Bluetooth speaker is worth it because to me it comes across as a niche item. I don't want to spend a hundred bucks on something that's liable to get damaged as my speaker is usually just used for travel and outside work. It's not some nameless Chinese speaker though. I didn't realize that naming what I picked up would cause some mass down vote as well. This is such a niche thing imho that unless you are using a Bluetooth speaker so much that it matters then why bother? It's weirder to me because this thread is full of people saying "yeah it's alright but was way overpriced and it has had some issues" Just my two cents.ĮDIT: since I'm getting downvoted to hell and back my point is that I don't think paying so much for a Bluetooth speaker is a worthwhile thing when you could put that money to a nice pair of headphones or a nice sound system. Spend what you want I guess but I don't see a reason to spend this kind of money on something like this. I paid like 30 bucks for an oontz angle and it sounds fine. Over the years I have bought several Bluetooth speakers and this one beats them all for performance, looks and value! Aesthetically, it is a very attractive looking speaker that even sounds better than it looks! Once you set it up and connect via Bluetooth, it will automatically pair whenever you press the power button on the speaker (at least when using an iPhone 12)! The HK App is pretty basic but necessary to initially set-up and pair, it does show you the battery life and gives information on firmware. It is portable, but probably better suited for a stationary placement and plugged in 24/7. I'll probably hook one up to Echo Alexa even though I will have to periodically hit the power button to allow the echo audio to be heard through the onyx 4 speaker. God knows why, but I'll probably buy another one just for convenience (one upstairs and one in my basement mancave). I just bought this speaker for $100, and I absolutely love it! Every technical review that I have read where this is compared to newer versions such as the 5, 6 and 7, the HK Onyx Studio 4 continues to come out on top.
